Accessibility Statement for wvdrs.org
The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services and the State of West Virginia are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually monitor and improve the user experience, applying proven accessibility standards to benefit all users.
Measures to support accessibility
The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of these resources for Vocational Rehabilitation in West Virginia:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
- Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
- Assign clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.
- Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.
- Consult with people with disabilities in the design and implementation phases of all projects.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. These guidelines affirm three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Vocational Rehabilitation in West Virginia is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Additional accessibility considerations
Our goal has been WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, but some features of this site meet or exceed the Level AAA criteria: All video is open-captioned. No browser functions (enabling on-the-fly font resizing, for example) have been deliberately disabled. Our consistent semantic structure allows, and we encourage, personalized web stylesheets for users whose visual perception is improved by modifying the default size, contrast, or other display characteristics of all elements presented, including the color spectrum.
