Oglebay Resort in Wheeling is recognized by the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) as an exemplary employer and partner as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month this October.

Oglebay Resort has demonstrated excellence in its diverse hiring practices by creating an inclusive workplace, and DRS recognizes this organization for its positive contributions within our communities.

Oglebay Resort has been a stellar partner in providing DRS consumers with employment opportunities throughout the years. Despite the challenges presented during 2020-2021, past DRS consumers are still employed at the resort. Oglebay also works well and conscientiously with DRS’ primary consumer rehabilitation program, Goodwill Industries, in providing opportunities for work-based assessments and other evaluative mechanisms DRS uses to give clients exposure to different occupational situations within the park. As a new employment specialist for DRS in 2000, Oglebay was my very first employer contact, and the partnership has continued successfully since then!
