DRS offers specialized services to help West Virginians with significant vision and/or hearing impairments address barriers, so they can meet their work-related needs. DRS also provides distinct rehabilitation technology services that can help consumers prepare for and work more effectively and efficiently.

Visual Impairment

Specially trained DRS rehabilitation counselors can help West Virginians with significant vision impairments address barriers, so they are able to meet their work-related needs. Services for people with vision impairments cover a wide range of individual needs, from basic mobility training to assistive technologies.


Hearing Impairment

DRS offers specialized programs and services that help West Virginians who are deaf or hard of hearing to reach their employment goals. Specially trained DRS rehabilitation counselors understand deaf culture, as well as the needs of those who have lost their hearing later in life.


Rehabilitation Technology

DRS offers rehabilitation technology services that can help consumers prepare for and work more effectively and efficiently. DRS has a group of experienced engineers, computer specialists and environmental modification technicians who specialize in job accommodations, custom-designed assistive devices and product fabrication.


West Virginia Technology-Related Assistance Revolving Loan Fund

Commonly referred to as the Revolving Loan Fund, this is a statewide loan program for qualified West Virginia residents with disabilities to purchase assistive technology devices or services.
