The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) recognized Daniel Vineyards in Crab Orchard as an exemplary employer and partner as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October 2024.
DRS recognized Daniel Vineyards for demonstrating excellence in its diverse hiring practices by creating an inclusive workplace and for its positive contributions within our communities.
According to Rich Daniel, co-owner of Daniel Vineyards, their partnership with DRS has been a great fit for their business. They have benefited from DRS programs including job matching, on-the-job training and youth work experience opportunities. Daniel indicated that he has hired job seekers referred by DRS and those individuals have become exemplary employees, with some becoming mentors for inexperienced workers needing guidance on learning work tasks.
Nominated by DRS Employment Specialist Kristina Wandzel, Daniel Vineyards is a valued partner for providing work-based learning experiences and long-term job opportunities for DRS consumers.
DRS, an agency of the West Virginia Department of Commerce, is responsible for the federal vocational rehabilitation program in West Virginia, which enables and empowers West Virginians with disabilities to work and to live independently. DRS helps people with disabilities, ages 14 and up, set work goals and develop career plans to overcome employment-related barriers so they can go to work or maintain current employment. DRS also assists West Virginia’s businesses and employers by being their primary employment resource to include or to retain people with disabilities in their workforce.
