The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) recognized Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA Area, Inc.  in Huntington as a diversity trailblazer employer and partner as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October 2024.

DRS recognized Goodwill Industries for demonstrating ongoing leadership in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in its hiring practices and workplace and for its constant positive contributions within our communities.

Goodwill Industries has a long-standing partnership with DRS, providing a variety of work-related training experiences, as well as long-term employment opportunities for DRS consumers. This employer is compassionate and supportive towards individuals with disabilities.

Nominated by DRS Rehabilitation Counselor Leslie Scragg, Goodwill Industries is a supportive and valued partner by providing work-related training and employment opportunities to include people with disabilities in their workforce.

DRS, an agency of the West Virginia Department of Commerce, is responsible for the federal vocational rehabilitation program in West Virginia, which enables and empowers West Virginians with disabilities to work and to live independently. DRS helps people with disabilities, ages 14 and up, set work goals and develop career plans to overcome employment-related barriers so they can go to work or maintain current employment. DRS also assists West Virginia’s businesses and employers by being their primary employment resource to include or to retain people with disabilities in their workforce.
