The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) recognized Mountain State Recovery Center in Charleston as an exemplary employer and partner as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October 2024.
DRS recognized Mountain State Recovery Center for demonstrating excellence in its diverse hiring practices by creating an inclusive workplace and for its positive contributions within our communities.
Mountain State Recovery Center partnered with DRS to provide internship hours for DRS consumers who are in training to become Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS), which requires 500 hours of on-the-job training before they can obtain certification. The partnership will help fill the need for more trained and certified PRSS in the Charleston area.
Nominated by DRS Employment Specialist Michael Lamb, Mountain State Recovery Center is enthusiastic to provide employment opportunities for DRS consumers who achieve certification as a PRSS.
