10/29/24The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) recognized Yukon Medical Clinic in Yukon as an exemplary employer and partner as part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month in October 2024.
DRS recognized Yukon Medical Clinic for demonstrating excellence in its diverse hiring practices by creating an inclusive workplace and for its positive contributions within our communities.
Yukon Medical Clinic partnered with DRS to provide work experience opportunities for two DRS consumers. This employer is also very understanding of disability-related barriers that may affect employment outcomes of DRS consumers.
Nominated by DRS Employment Specialist Randall Coleman, Yukon Medical Clinic is a valued partner for providing work-based learning experiences for DRS consumers.
DRS, an agency of the West Virginia Department of Commerce, is responsible for the federal vocational rehabilitation program in West Virginia, which enables and empowers West Virginians with disabilities to work and to live independently. DRS helps people with disabilities, ages 14 and up, set work goals and develop career plans to overcome employment-related barriers so they can go to work or maintain current employment. DRS also assists West Virginia’s businesses and employers by being their primary employment resource to include or to retain people with disabilities in their workforce.
